The Clermont County Health District in conjunction with the Center for Urban and Public Affairs at Wright State University has completed both a health needs assessment of Clermont County and a Youth Health Assessment. The surveys were conducted as part of an initiative of Clermont CAN (Coalition for Activity and Nutrition). Clermont CAN came together in 2008 as numerous agencies throughout the county joined forces to work towards a common goal of increasing physical activity and nutrition for Clermont County residents. Clermont CAN is interested in the health status of adults and children to help determine what factors need to be targeted to reduce chronic disease.
Information from the survey will allow the the impact of community health action plans and trends in health to be monitored over time. This survey will also provide information that will allow areas for improvement of community health to be identified.
Areas of physical activity and nurtrition for Clermont County 4th graders were assessed on the youth health assessment.

The Health District is also in the process of conducting a youth health assessment. Further information about both of these assessments will be provided as it becomes available.
